Australian fingerstyle virtuoso Alan Gogoll recorded his latest album Lioness Lullabies at the legendary Hansa Studios in Berlin Germany and I had the pleasure and privilege of producing the sessions.

The results are extraordinary - great player, great mics, great room and in this video I share some of the raw recordings from each mic. We have a vintage RCA 44 ribbon mic, Neumann u67 and Neumann SM2 from the 1960s, Gefell M300s and Rupert Neve ribbon mic too as well as the K+K pickup system.

Thank you to Alan Gogoll and the amazing team at The Orchard for making this video possible. This video is made with full approval of the copyright owners.
Just FYI - the raw tracks were pre-mastered and as such very quiet - I boosted them a little myself to get them to the same volume as my voice. This may have added noise floor that won’t be on the record.
I'll see you in the next one,
until then stay tuned
Michael
